Unlocking the economic and environmental potential of innovation in urban and regional mobility - Brussels, 10-11 December 2009
Learn about the innovative transport actions and policies pursued by cities and regions against a backdrop of climate change, the economic downturn and financial crisis.

OASIS project - Quality of life for the elderly - First announcement & Call for papers (DEADLINE: 17th July)
The OASIS project on quality of life for the elderly (www.oasis-project.eu) will hold its first International Conference in Florence 4-5 November 2009, with two sessions dedicated to mobility for the elderly taking place on the second day: a first one for ICT applications, a second session for non-ICT projects and initiatives.
A call for papers is currently open until 17th July. Papers will be evaluated by an independent panel of experts.
28/04/09 - Polis welcomes the adoption by the European Parliament of a report on an action plan on urban mobility
Polis, the European network of cities and regions supporting innovation in local transport, welcomes the vote of the European Parliament report on an action plan on urban mobility. According to Councillor Francesc Narvaez from Barcelona, the current president of Polis, this report is “an important milestone towards the implementation of a coherent and comprehensive European policy on urban mobility”. The city of Hamburg has joined Polis
Hamburg is the second-largest city in Germany and is the most populous non-capital city in the European Union by population within city limits. The city is home to approximately 1.8 million people, while the Hamburg metropolitan area has more than 4.3 million inhabitants. The port of Hamburg is the second-largest port in Europe and the ninth-largest in the world.
Polis is delighted to welcome the city of Hamburg as new Member and is looking forward to its active involvement within the network!
